Calibration Technician JOB SUMMARY: The Calibration Technician calibrates measuring and indicating instruments to meet established standards. Tests and measures accuracy of instruments used to heat, light, voltage, amperage, vacuum, magnetic resistance, or various content measurements in the facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Performs calibration of equipment as scheduled or as required and maintain records of calibration.
Investigates equipment and documentation out of specification and maintains records.
Inspects parts and equipment to mechanical drawing or specification ensuring tolerances are maintained using appropriate inspection tools and following approved inspection criteria.
May assist operators in determining inspection procedures for a specific part or product.
Provides process improvement feedback to management regarding inspection methods as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
three to five years inspection experience in a close tolerance environment.
Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, procedures, repair manuals and electrical blueprints.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must be skilled in the operation of power and/or hand tools.
